The US Patent and Trademark Office awards Laser Light Communications US Patent 9,438,341, comprising the elements of their proposed optical communications system (StarBeam™ OS).

September 06, 2016 – StarBeam™ OS is intended to be an automated and robust cognitive based computing system using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to sense, predict, and infer network conditions and weather patterns. StarBeam™ OS will be configured to dynamically manage transmission of data between optical communications nodes – both terrestrial and orbital - to form a hybrid mesh global network topology. StarBeam ™ OS will enable autonomous traffic routing decisions for enterprises, carriers, and government customers, across the entire hybrid network – satellites and ground service networks - offering multiple “real time” service options to eliminate slowdowns from network congestion, outages, or weather interruptions.
